Abstract
A simple, accurate, sensitive and reproducible spectrofluorimetric method was developed for the analysis of etoposide in pure and pharmaceutical dosage forms. Etoposide showed strong native fluorescence in 0.05 M sulphuric acid having at 227.0 nm and emission at 335 nm. The calibration graph was linear in the range from 0.01mcg/mL to 0.100 mcg/mL. The proposed method was statistically validated and successfully applied for analysis of dosage form. The limit of detection and limit of quantification was found to be 0.0023 mcg/mL and 0.007 mcg/mL, respectively. The percent recovery was found to be in the range of 99.56% and 99.70%.
