Abstract

Black cotton soil is expansive clay with high potential of shrinking and swelling due to which it is found to be most troublesome from engineering consideration. Studies have shown improvement in the characteristics of the soil on introducing nylon reinforcements. The main aim of this study is to observe the changes in characteristics of soil on introducing nylon reinforcement in two methods namely randomly distributed and uniformly distributed to make it for suitable for engineering work.
