title = "Study of color space transformation techniques for converting spectrographs to spectrograms",
abstract = "Spectrometers measure optical power as a function of wavelength. Optical spectrum analysis is very important part of optical spectroscopy applications. The work documented in this paper gives a working knowledge of converting spectrographs to spectrograms using color space transformation techniques. In this work it is demonstrated that how a webcam spectrometer can be used to measure spectral composition of light sources. The method for mapping the RGB triplets in the spectral image of the light source captured by the webcam spectrometer to the visible wavelength spectrum is illustrated. The test results showed that spectrograms of the test light sources were in close agreement with the respective theoretical references. This method can adopted to calibrate the webcam spectrometer and the need for a standard source during calibration can be omitted.",
