Abstract

A study of subarachnoid hemorrhage with a view to determining its incidence is presented. The incidence of 1.5 per thousand hospital admissions is comparable to the incidence reported in the Western literature. It is felt that the true incidence of subarachnoid hemorrhage can only be appreciated by a prospective study, with predetermined criteria for case selection and diagnosis (angiography).
