Synthesis and evaluation of a series of N-substituted 2,5-dimethylpyrroles as anthelmintics and antibacterials

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

A library of N-substituted 2,5-dimethylpyrroles were synthesized from aromatic hydrazides /an amine using saccharin as a green catalyst. The target compounds were screened for their efficacy as anthelmintics and antibacterials in vitro. The results revealed that, compounds 2a, 2b, 2e, 2i, 2k, and 2m were potent anthelmintics while compounds 2a, 2b, and 2k being potent antibacterials.
