Synthesis and in-vitro antimicrobial activity of 4,6 disubstituted pyrimidines

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

This paper describes the synthesis and evaluation of antimicrobial profile of new 2-amino 4,6 disubstituted pyrimidines and 2-mercapto 4,6 disubstituted pyrimidines. Our results show that the 2-mercapto 4,6 disubstituted pyrimidines are active against Mycobacterium tuberculosis at 10 μg mL-1, whereas the corresponding 2-amino-4,6 disubstituted pyrimidines are devoid of antitubercular activity. All the compounds were devoid of antibacterial and antifungal activity.
