Abstract
A new two-input Boost plus SEPIC based dc-dc converter suitable to draw power from two different input dc sources and supplying to a common dc-bus/load is presented in this paper. This is a two-switch converter and has five energy storage elements resulting in a fifth-order converter. Since this consists of boost circuit it mainly performs boosting operation. The salient feature of the proposed converter is that both the sources are simultaneously supplying power to the downstream load at reduced ripple current. This feature is particularly attractive for dc grid application. A 48 V, 115 Watt converter performance is analyzed, compared with the simulation and measurement observations.
