Underwater Wireless Sensor Network Node Deployment Topologies and Localization Performances

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

Deployment of sensor nodes in an underwater environment is one of the important task for proper acquisition of data from the environment. The present work compares the performance of three deployment topologies namely random, cube and regular tetrahedron in a 3-D monitored environment. The performance comparison of these three topologies using the parameters - average number of anchor node neighbours, localization ratio, network connectivity and localization error with the help of MATLAB is proposed. Even though the popular method of deployment strategy is random, the proposed method comes up with a different perception of considering the cube and regular tetrahedron deployment scheme.
