Abstract

Maintaining a high level of interest in students in the traditional brick-and-mortar classroom environment has been a challenge with the newer generations. There is a great deal of comfort with using technology and that is also, unfortunately, a cause of distraction itself. Various mechanisms to reduce this technology distraction have been tried without showing any particular success. It has been shown that the mere presence of gadgets in the visual range of students causes a reduction in their mental abilities. However, since the current section of the society that is largely represented in classrooms today are millennials, who are well acquainted with the digital world, we cannot avoid usage of the same in the classroom. This chapter highlights a case of using Facebook Groups as one mechanism for partially incorporating the online platform for learning in organizational behaviour courses, beyond the classroom, in the Indian MBA context.
