Abstract

Objectives: To review Zika virus, it’s clinical manifestation and possible medical and dental clinical updates. Data Sources: Articles published on Zika virus in indexed and non-indexed journals in electronic database (MedLine, Pubmed, Embase) news and research based scientific forum were evaluated and the ones suited the authors’s requirement have been referenced. Conclusion: Zika virus, an old virulence but new to the modern world, which has been causing panic among health workers with its signs of creating microcephaly amongst new borns, might also be responsible for possible medical and dental problems especially related to oral hygiene and developmental delays. However, further research is required in understanding of the virus and its direct association with oral cavity apart from Apthae ulcer.
