Professional Information

I am working as an Associate Professor- Research in the Department of Biotechnology at MIT Manipal. Prior to joining here at Manipal, I worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Karunya Institute of Technology ad Sciences, Coimbatore. I completed my Post-Doc as an Institute Post-Doctoral Fellow at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. 
Regarding my academics, I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Biochemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology Agartala. I did my M.Tech in Environmental Science and Technology from National Institute of Technology Durgapur and my B.E is in Biotechnology from Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology Chennai. As of now, I have published more than 54 research and review articles in SCI-Indexed various International journals of high impact factors. Apart from that, I am the co-author of 4 International Research Reference Books published by Elsevier Science. Moreover, I am the author of 4 book chapters published in International Publishers. I have also participated in several conferences at the national and International level. I also worked as Co-PI in my collaborative project proposal with NIT Agartala which was funded by CSIR, India with a grant of Rs. 25 Lakhs.

Awards and recognition 

1. Appointed as Editorial Board Member for Biomass Conversion and Biorefinery Jouranl of Springer, an SCIE and Scopus Indexed Q2 Journal. 
2. Listed among the World’s Top 2% Scientists 2023 and 2024 according to the database released by the Stanford University USA.
3. Most Cited Review Paper Award for review article “A review on the production of fermentable sugars from lignocellulosic biomass through conventional and enzymatic route– A comparison” published & downloaded for the period 2016-2020 in International Journal of Green Energy organized by 13th International Green Energy Conference on 18th July, 2021 in Beijing, China
